Chittagong, the commercial capital and the second international gateway to the country, is located in a picturesque hinterland of large hill forests and lakes. Its green hills and forests, broad sandy beaches and fine cool climate always attract holidaymakers. Chittagong is connected with Dhaka by rail, road, air and water. It is also connected with Cox’s Bazar, Kolkata and some Middle Eastern destinations by air.

With a view to popularize tourism among the inhabitants of this great city, The Bangladesh Monitor has been organising Chittagong Travel Mart since the year 2007 and it is now being held as a regular Annual Event, being participated by leading Airlines, Tour Operators, Hotels/Resorts, Medical Tourism Agencies, Amusement parks and various other Tourism service providers. The Chittagong Travel Mart is the only International Tourism Fair, being held at the port city and it is visited by over 7000 to 7500 visitors during three days of the Fair. Participating organisations are exceedingly happy to receive such a huge number of visitors, as they get a unique opportunity to promote their products and services directly to their customers and strengthen their brand image before a huge target audience.

The Fair gets to a colourful start with a formal inaugural ceremony in presence of the Minister for Civil Aviation & Tourism, President of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce, local business leaders, tourism stakeholders, representatives of participating organisations and a large number of national and regional media representatives.
